Stainless Steel Milgauss (116400)

  • Description
  • Rolex developed the original Milgauss in 1956 for scientists who were regularly exposed to powerful magnetic fields during the course of their work. Ordinary watches exposed to magnetic fields of 50 to 100 gauss would become magnetized and seize up, rendering them useless. Rolex designed this watch to withstand magnetic fields up to 1,000 gauss, hence the name mille, which is French for 1,000. The movement has a special shield made of anti-magnetic alloys. This watch comes with its original box, booklets, and our one year warranty.
